The Shipping Dilemma

Cold weather comes as a factor affecting the purchase of electric cars, as well as the charging of this type of vehicle.

The German Automobile Association indicated in a study published earlier this August that Germany faces major obstacles to achieving its goal of promoting the demand for electric cars, especially since the majority cannot charge such vehicles at home.

According to the association, two-thirds of Germans live in apartments and have few opportunities to charge such cars at home, and that even if there is an underground garage for cars, only 96 percent of them are not equipped with a single electrical socket.

The study showed that a quarter of the companies interviewed with their officials are considering providing shipping solutions over the next three years.

According to the Federal Automobile Office, of the 47.1 million cars in Germany, only 200,000 are electric or hybrid cars.

Despite the interest of European countries and the United States in the infrastructure for charging electric cars on the roads, this measure is largely weak in many developing countries, which limits the spread of these cars.
